Not sure if he's a Christian or not. Did hear at about 10 am that Steve (the husband/daddy) was arrested 10 days ago for "battering his wife" - domestic violence. (I & my children are survivors of domestic violence & this is a touchy subject for me.) Suddenly, this took on a whole new light. Nicola & the children had moved into a shelter. Later in the day, the autopsy reports came out. Nicola was 5 months pregnant & was in a minor traffic accident on either Thursday or Saturday (2 different dates given). She was treated at a local hosptial & released. She evidently had refused further treatment. From what the reports said, the baby died shortly there-after and she went into labor on Saturday night. Nicola died while in labor / delivery from injuries sustained in the auto accident. The ruling is accidental death from the injuries. Steve is still under investigation. The surviving children are in protective custody at the Children's Guardian Home until they can be placed with family members or Steve is cleared of the domestic violence charges.
This entire thing is just tearing me apart. My heart is broken for everyone involved - yes, even Steve. I watch as these boys & young men in our society are encouraged to take steroids, hormones, etc. Be famous, make millions, look down on anyone you want. They are told from infancy to be strong & manly. Never realizing that gentleness is such a great strength. Steve is very much a victim, himself. I pray that, whatever happened in that family, he can find some hope & help & peace & that the innocent children who have lost their mommy & baby sister will find peace, as well.
